Johnny Davis, shortstop of the Lions baseball team, is trying to hold his young team together. They enjoy touring the country by car, learning of the many wonderful things that exist in what most people think of as "fly-over country." He has four grown children, at least one of whom might want to be a writer, and one grandchild.
