Booty was inspired to write about the brave little starling after watching adult birds on his way to work taking nesting materials inside a traffic signal control arm. Mr. Booty lives in Naperville, Illinois, with his wife Jo, and lots of sparrows, cardinals, chickadees, doves, juncos, finches and the occasional Cooper's hawk in their backyard.
