The book Its Okay to Be Different is a preschool-level book that teaches that differences are okay. It is a rhyming book, and it also teaches colors. In the book, the main character, Red, starts to bully Blue. Red tells Blue that it is not okay to be different since Blue has spots, unlike the other color characters, who are one solid color. As Blue gets sad, he disappears, and all playground equipment that have the color blue also start to fade. Red then realizes that they need Blue to fix the playground since it is now a dull gray color. Yellow shows up and encourages teamwork as the colors work together to bring Blue back. They mix together, and the colors are vibrant once more. The playground is colorful, and all the kids enjoy playing on the equipment once again. The lesson at the end is that using mean words can make someone feel heartbroken, so they decide accept differences in one another.
