Sample Preparation for Chemical Analysis is written for chemical laboratory technician students and employed technicians to provide basic information on the topic of sample preparation of natural materials. For purposes of this book, natural materials include fertilizer, raw materials used in making fertilizer, animal feed, and soils. The book focuses on the basic operations performed on a solid sample as it moves through the various processes necessary to prepare it for analysis in the laboratory. Liquid samples are not addressed because in many cases, a liquid sample would require minimal preparation compared to a solid sample. This book is a part of the PACT Chemical Technology Resources series, which is a product of the National Science Foundation-funded Partnership for the Advancement of Chemical Technology (PACT) program at Miami University Middletown in Ohio.
