My doctor just walked out of my hospital room, after telling me that he hoped I enjoyed reading or had a hobby, because I was going to be in the hospital for quite some time. I turned toward the window to think about what he said, and my eyes fell upon a tan house, and a story formed in my mind. I grabbed a notebook and wrote The Tan House with my great-grandson in mind; but as I shared The Tan House with others, they kept telling me I should publish this book.
Those who read it felt that children needed to be reminded that they should be happy with the things they have and not always want what everyone else had, which is why the Queen House shares what the Bible said about being content with what you have. The questions at the end of the book are designed for the reader and child to talk about being content.
The Tan House's three friends--the White House, Green House, and Yellow House--don't want the Tan House to move away, but they want him to be happy. Find out how the sad Tan House becomes a happy house.
