This book is a preliminary step to examine the whole diffusion process of organic farming in a village of Chitwan district of Nepal. The study begins by providing a background on history and current status of organic farming in Nepal. It then reviews the conceptual and functional literature about factors affecting adoption and diffusion of organic vegetable production in Nepal. Finally, the findings of this study provide a glimpse on following aspects of organic farming in Nepalese context: comparative analysis of adopters and non-adopters, factors affecting adoption and diffusion, extent of adoption, diffusion pattern, adoption period, rationales behind adoption and non-adoption, farm information sources used in diffusion process and researchable issues on organic farming. This book could be helpful in designing the suitable policies and strategies based on farmers' need, interest, and capacity to support the extension of organic agriculture within Nepal.
